Is It Time For A Career Change? Become A Real Estate Professional.

career change

Are you someone who finds yourself talking or reading about houses and apartments? Do you find it interesting to learn the history of houses? Or maybe you just enjoy driving through Connecticut’s towns and cities to look at different house styles? From flipping through home and garden magazines to checking out local listing, life involved with real estate is  varied and exciting.

If you’re like those of us who enjoy all of the above and helping friends and family find just the right house, a career in real estate might be perfect for you.

For some, becoming an agent can be a lucrative full time profession. For others, it can be a part time career, bringing in that extra income needed to cover life’s costs such as child care or a college fund (did you know CNN Money states raising a child can cost over $241 000?) Or maybe you’re an experienced landlord and already have one foot in the door. You realize becoming an agent is just a natural step in your life.

Wherever you are in your professional life, becoming an agent can be a smart financial move. According to CNN Money, home prices in all areas of CT are expected to rise in 2014. Wouldn’t it be rewarding to be part of a group that helps someone find the perfect home in Connecticut? Or helps an investor find the right duplex for a second income?

For information about what it takes to be a realtor, contact me, Michelle Manter Giglietti. I’ll be happy to answer questions about all aspects of real estate and how you can get into it!

Is 2013 a Great Time to Become a Realtor? Yes, It Is!

career oppourtunity

There’s been a lot of talk about real estate these last few years and the effect that the real estate market has had on the general economy. There have been some hard times for both buyers and sellers and, frankly, there have been those who have left the business of doing real estate because of the ups and downs since the recession.

So, that said, Is 2013 a great time to become a Realtor?

Yes it is!

Furthermore, I am here to tell you that it’s always been a great time to be a Realtor!

-Realtors connect with the local community. In working with clients and colleagues and becoming their local expert, you learn about the local schools, community events, shopping, local businesses, and public services.

-Realtors get “out of the office”! Do you like exploring new areas, checking out neighborhoods, and meeting lots of people? Real Estate will give you all of that, and more. Realtors enjoy a busy and varied work life.

-Realtors also enjoy a high level of job satisfaction. As a Realtor, you have the opportunity to guide people through one of their biggest life decisions – buying and selling their homes. A Realtor can have a positive effect on clients who are experiencing what can sometimes be a confusing and overwhelming time. Your expertise can assist your clients in reaching a satisfying decision that works both personally and financially for them and their life goals.REALTOR_R

If you enjoy all of the qualities that makes a person a great Realtor and are thinking about real estate as a profession, then anytime is a great time to be a Realtor.

In the last few months, however, with both buyers and sellers reacting to the positive economic news, 2013 is turning out to be a great time to become a Realtor. Historically low mortgage rates are encouraging potential home buyers to jump into the market. Although home buyers have been wary about home purchases these last few years, they are starting to realize that today’s low rates are making it often cheaper to buy than to continue renting. For home sellers, the steady rebound in housing prices means that they can regain some lost equity in their homes. According to Core Logic’s latest home price index report, home prices in March 2013 were up 10.5% from March 2012. In some areas of the country, it’s up even more. The recovery means that home sellers can now walk away with some money in their pocket after the sale of their home, which means they can now turn around and purchase a new home.

The economy is turning around, the housing market is rebounding, and people are starting to have confidence in their ability to both sell and purchase homes again.
